I have a scenario where SU can still win the NC. However it involves 4 natural disasters and a Civil War.

It seems like OSU/Alabama/Clemson/Oklahoma + 1 or 2 others will be the realistic NC contenders going forward. IDK, things can change quick in college football, but those programs seem to be cementing themselves at the top, everyone else is a tier below for now.

I would add Georgia & Florida to that list. If they win out, including the SEC Championship over Alabama/LSU, then they should make the CFP.
