I did this q & a with Matt Moyer for Otto's Grove. He's such a tremendous kid and a great ambassador for SU. He's going to be a huge fan favorite. I'm putting the link on the recruiting board in the Moyer thread but I didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle over there. Check it out and please forward to Orange fans who might not frequent this board. Thanks!

Moyer is AWESOME.

He's an even better person than a hoops player (and he's a great player - sure to be a fan favorite).

Plus - he's a fantastic ambassador for the program, and never wavered in his commitment when the sanctions came out.

We're very fortunate to have him coming our way.

Very well done, my friend. And thank you for the relevant questions!
One case in point, especially curious about this one:
"Otto’s Grove: We’ve seen a lot of clips of your offensive game, can you talk about what you bring defensively?"

I was amazed that he watches so much stuff on the 2-3, including YouTube's.

New kind of beast ;)

I agree with his take that forwards have the toughest role in the zone. Cool that he's looking at this stuff - everyone knows how to earn Boeheim's trust (and it isn't offensive skill). No doubt he'll have some frustrating moments out there, but damn that's a grounded and intelligent kid.

Nice stuff, Iommi!

Ugh. I typed up the piece so fast; I'm noticing some awkward sentences and some things I would've written differently. Hopefully, I can get that stuff cleaned up.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, everyone.

Thank you for the post. Just starting to get on board with new players for next years team. We have had a bit more news on Battle but Moyer looks like and sounds like the "real deal". In another post he likened his game to CJ and if that happens we are in for a solid player. Great to have him out there as an ambassador for SU basketball with his peers.

His favorite player is Paul Pierce, whom he models his game after.

You forgot the most important question, did he have any insite on how the team next year was shappong up, ie any insite on Richardsons returning or not.

Good points but we don't even know who's going be on the roster and I wouldn't put him in an awkward position to answer a question about Malachi. Thanks for reading.

Right. That would be a very unfair question to ask the kid. Thank you for not doing that.
