My Questions for tonight's Adrian Autry Show

Coach Autry’s radio show is on Thursdays, (Wednesdays until the Dino Babers Show ends) from 7-8:30PM on ESPN Radio in Syracuse, which is AM1200 or FM 97.7 on the dial. The show is at Carrabba's Italian Grill at 550 Towne Drive, Fayetteville, NY. The first hour, hosted by Matt Park, the Voice of the Orange, is on their general network. They are again doing a third half hour segment on Twitch: I think I will save myself some time by posting the main show and linking the Twitch segment the next day when it shows up on You-Tube.

MY QUESTIONS/COMMENTS


"Coach, after the Cornell game you said “Guys who aren’t going to play with heart and who aren’t going to do what we ask them to do will not play moving forward and that’s just the bottom line”. JJ Starling was the only change in our starting line-up for Tennessee and we wound up playing everybody. Afterward you said “This is not what this is. This is not Syracuse basketball”. We may have the right mix of talents on this team when everybody’s healthy. Do we have the right mix of personalities?"

I would definitely love it if you could get Red to clarify what he sees in Carlos that makes him a 37 minute player.

Also, ask him why he thinks McLeod sucks so much he's playing guys out of position instead of letting McLeod have a few minutes per half at center.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure we would get a straight forward answer on why Carlos plays so much. Just something generic like…..he is the only one that can handle the ball.

In terms of McLeod…..did anyone see anything out of him in the 5 minutes vs Tennessee that suggests he should be getting playing time? I remember him getting bodied multiple times on the defensive end by a guy a half a foot shorter and 50lbs smaller than him.

Because McLeod doesn’t do anything besides block a few shots once in a while. Was first big off the bench in the Tenn the game, and got absolutely bullied by Tenn’s backup big twice in a row and then got subbed out immediently. Also, McLeod sucks as a man to man defender so thats why they always have to play zone when he goes in.

Wouldn't it be nice if he does continue to develop and ends up in the starting line-up with Choppa and when JJ comes back. Carlos, Taylor, and Mr. No improvement come off the bench.

Do you really think Red would answer that?

They could somehow win the ACC tournament to get an auto-bid. They could somehow click and go on a crazy winning streak and turn a corner. They are 4-3 and even though the odds of them making the tournament are low, no coach is going to validate your question with a response 7 games into the season.

He looked terrible vs Tennessee, but he did look adequate vs Texas. I don't see why he couldn't get 5 minutes/game with this roster.
