My comment is based on the fact that's what someone close to the team told me the gameplan was. We wanted to eliminate big plays, make them have long drives, limit to field goals at times, and then have our offense win in a higher scoring game. We weren't playing a very aggressive attacking style D because I think they know we couldn't do that. I'm not defending it as I still think we can utilize more scheme and stunts (and I hope we do make adjustments) since we don't have the talent to get to the QB on our own.

If we had limited those two turnovers and not given up two monster plays (one bad tackling where a guy should be stopped for a loss, the other leaving a true freshman in 1-on-1 coverage) I think we would have kept it much closer and had a shot. There's a reason my only confident bet on this game was taking the over.

Games often come down to a few big plays. We lost all of them. Season was never dependent on this game. I was always hoping we'd win one of the tough five games and maybe steal a second. (Tenn, Miami, SMU, Clemson, ND) to get to eight wins. But doing so requires our offense being good. I think it will be and will get better. Lot to build on there.

I think we match up better with Miami later in the year as our team gets better and we'll see where we are for SMU. Clemson in a few weeks will give us a much better litmus test if we clean up our mistakes, too.

The reality is we need to take care of business with all of our home games.  I'm not feeling bad at all today.
