This will not be a very long post. Another low-quality opponent, another very small crowd, some uninspired play, but also undeniable talent on the court.

I thought the most exciting things to develop tonight were the inspired play of Rakim Christmas and the hustle and tenacity of DC2.

Rak came to play. He rebounded well. He defended well. And best of all, he really wanted the ball on offense and when he got it, he finished. With authority..

DC2 did a terrific job on the boards. He hustled, and went to the basket strong. And his defense was solid as well. His free-throw shooting still needs work.

Ryerson let CJ shoot. And he played well and had a good game. If he had shot the ball really well, he would have had crazy numbers.

The more I watch Patterson play, the more I like him. He places as hard as any player we've ever had. BJ and Roberson struggled a bit on defense. They are still finding their way and we need to be patient.

TE and TC did well. They didn't play a whole lot, and the focus was not on them tonight. But I like the chemistry.

The effort was uneven tonight. Overall, the subs played better than the first exhibition.

Ryerson pressed us, played zone, and even played some man-to-man. This provided us with a good tuneup and a variety of experiences for the young players.

We experimented with the press. Used a bunch of different lineups. Played the fresh extensively. Can't wait for the regular season to begin.

DC was very good from the line tonight. I believe he was 7-10. I'll take that without a doubt.

There was an accident on 81 S near the Brighton Ave exit that stopped traffic from before Clinton all along 81. We left our house in Liverpool at 6:00 and didn't reach the Brighton Ave exit till 7:15 because of it. Three lanes of traffic just parked. We turned around and went home-I don't think we were alone either in just giving up. It was totally packed with no where to go. Thanks for the recap since we didn't get home until the beginning of the 2nd half. Grrr

Great post, Tom. Spot on with the freshmen. Buss has come a long way since Canada, and plays hard throughout. Both Roberson and BJ have struggled but I think Roberson was a little more assertive than his first game. But you're right, all in due time. Patience.

You got the skills alright, brother. I missed the chat, posting on one pc and watching feed on ipad. I need three hands. And three eyes.

Good thing it wasn't the Duke game. Otherwise you might have chosen to dump the car and run to the Dome.

Yup, although DC2 looked good from the line.

Just wait until they demolish I-81 and turn it into a boulevard.

Phew. We had every intention of going. But at 545 we decided not too since my son had a lot of HW. Got lucky there. I would have turned around too.

All the motorists wouldn't have been stuck on a limited-access expressway and could have reached their destination without being stranded for an hour?
