[QUOTE="CuyahogaCuse, post: 1168135, member: 409"] Random thoughts: Band sounded OK, even for being so small. That's the benefit of being outdoors without a big top overhead that wreaks havoc with the sound. But amazingly small. So much so that the only music they occasionally did pipe in was the fight song. The Syracuse contingent was large. The ACC is a good fit. As much as I selfishly wanted a B1G invite, living in Northeast Ohio, the family is getting quite familiar with I-77. West Virginia has become our personal gateway to the south. The 7-hour one-way drive was almost "easy." As for the Wake fans, I met some nice old timers in the parking lot. They inquired about why we were the Orange, and thought I was toying with them when I mentioned pink and pea green. There were plenty of goods seats available. While many WFU fans were polite, there was a nasty, mean-spirited woman in the row behind us. Tom is right. We were loud. Home game loud. And every time we roared to try and disrupt the Wake offense, she fumed with some Yankee/Southerner overtones mixed in the commentary. When Wake scored, I turned politely to congratulate her, but in good spirits added, "We came a long way. No matter the outcome, we're going to cheer loudly for our team. All day." It wasn't as if there weren't 16,000 other empty seats she could move to. They stuck it out to the third quarter, but after the scoop and score, we never saw them again. Hats off to JackBauer and Crusty and his wife. LGreat job on the tailgate. I found the AppleTV remote in a couch cushion at home. Sorry about that! I think my first board tailgate was one in Armory Square more than a decade ago. Maybe 2001. Living far away and raising a family, it's hard to get back more than once a year. But this is what we do. My boys are 11 and 9 now and look forward to it. And Mrs. CC keeps making new friends as well. So much so that some of the ladies were contemplating whether it's time for a spouses/significant others OT board. Hats off to everyone who keeps this going. As for Winston-Salem, ate on Friday night at BLL Rotisserie. JB and the team ate here last winter. Quaint little place with a good NY style pie. Highly recommended. On the other side if the scale, skip the W-S residence inn by Marriott. Unprofessional. Dirty. Bugs. Pretty much everything you don't want in a hotel and an embarrassment to the Marriott brand.
