In other words, they made more plays than we did. This is a common theme this year, NW, Rutgers, Cinci, we fell just a little short in every game. There is a reason. It's not crazy to think those teams were a little more talented. Does that mean they are better at every skill position? No. Maybe what it means is their bench is a little deeper so their starters rest more giving them that extra umpf when they need it most. Maybe our guys are spread too thin and that's why they make more mistakes. This is what I mean by a little more talented and a little deeper. Did their punter shank a kick? No. He's more talented. It's the little things in close games that make all the difference. Of the 2 close games we've won, Pitt and USF, it was us who had the extra umpf and made less mistakes in the long run.
 
If you don't think it's talent, then it must be coaching. How many offsides were we called for? How many were they called for? You mention the trick plays, that would be our coaches getting beat as well. They completely caught us with our pants down on the jump pass. Why didn't we attempt a jump pass. It all adds up. We didn't get blown off the field but we certainly got beat.
