First, it was a great highly competitive game against a nationally ranked opponent. We controlled and came close to dominating for most of the game. Second, the turning point was the hit on Dungey. When I saw the re-play I was surprised the play wasn't at the very least reviewed for targeting. It was pretty obvious after Dungey came back that he wasn't himself at least for the third quarter, the time when our D stood tall & we probably would have pulled away if not for the two picks. Third, I agree with another poster who says our biggest weakness is the lack of a running game. We have an un-balanced offense and even when we are humming (mostly thru the air) it still leaves our D on the field for too many minutes. Fourth, we lost because we got snookered on the fake punt play. We were also in that position because we failed to cash in on a deep red zone possession earlier when we not only did not get the TD, but also missed a chippie FG. Fifth, the team is playing hard and competitively. I am tired of all the dump HCSS talk. What is the rush. Wait until the season is over and evaluate his body of work including recruiting. My measuring stick is progress. I think this team is much better than last season's edition on the "eye" test. We only need one or two more wins to also pass the "math" test. The only scenerio where i think HCSS should be dumped would be if we lose out and the team gives up near the end. We have some near certain losses on the schedule, but we also have some winnable games. We just need to close the deal on one or two of those to have achieved a relatively successful season. The team is a work in progress, the next step is to learn to win.
