We all knew that as a three year starter Nassib would tally career numbers that would put him in some high positions in the record books, but this three game explosion has really accelerated things. Assuming my math is right Nassib is: #1 in pass attempts with 988, ahead of Marvin Graves with 943. #1 in completions with 594, ahead of Marvin Graves with 563. #3 in passing yards with 6580, behind #1 Marvin Graves with 8466, and #2 Donovan McNabb with 8,389. With 1887 yards to go to pass Graves, Nassib needs to average 210 yards a game (rounded up) over the 9 remaining games in the regular season to also stand at #1 in passing yards in the school record books. #3 in completion percentage at 59.1%, behind #2 Marvin Graves at 59.7% and #1 Greg Paulus at 67.7%. Nassib is trending up in this category though, so I wouldn't be surprised to end up on the right side of 60% and sit at #2 in the books. #2 in TD passes, behind #1 Donovan McNabb with 77. Nassib would need 25 TDs in our 9 remaining games to overtake McNabb, an average of 2.8 TD a game. He's averaging 3 a game so far this season, but I'm not so sure that's going to hold up. A bowl game could really help, especially if going into it his teammates know he needs X number for the record and they're fired up to help him get it. While some would say this is to his detriment, currently Nassib doesn't even crack the Top 10 in interceptions thrown. He has 21 behind RJ Anderson and Bob Mitch, tied at #9 with 23 apiece. I expect that he'll end up higher than 4th on this list between Todd Norley with 28 and Troy Nunes and Bernie Custis tied with 32. Assuming Marrone remains our head coach and we continue to play a fast paced, no huddle pass oriented offense, I think our next 3 or 4 year starter will smash all these records. That's a good thing. Quick notes on Alec Lemon - he's going to end up pretty high too. He's currently 9th on career receiving yards with 1590. If he gets healthy and is incorporated in the offense more I could see him end up as high as 3rd on the list. Those are big ifs, but he should safely land in 6th. Lemon is also tied with Tony Gabriel for 9th place with 9 TD receptions. There is very little separation on this list. One or two monster games shoot him up the list. I think he'll end up at least in 7th, but could land as high as 4th. Time will tell. Lastly, Lemon is alone in third with 136 receptions, behind Scott Schwedes and Shelby Hill at #1, tied with 139 catches. Lemon's going to end up #1 on that list, probably against Minnesota.
