Nassib calls season a 'great experience'

I thought he was going to be talking about SU's season!;)

This was the perfect season for Ryan. Sit back and absorb young fella. Learn the nuances of the position.
Geno Smith and EJ Manuel were both thrown in too early and both are struggling now.

I genuinely believe Ryan is going to have a good run in the NLF.

Hopefully he didn't learn too many nuances from 2013 Eli Manning.

Question to Giants fans:
What do you do with the Quarterback that has won your franchise 2 superbowls? How much leash does he get?

I'm not a Gints fan, so I don't have a dog in the fight...

2-time Super Bowl MOP? As much leash as he wants, as long as he can physically perform. But, that implies that everything is his fault. It's not. I bet that if you went back and looked at every INT this season, you would see maybe 40% were comprised of wrong routes run by the WR's, tipped passes, etc. Can the QB influence those? Sure. Are they all his fault? No. And it doesn't help when you don't even have time to set up in the pocket before you are forced to scramble - not one of Eli's fortes. That is the number 1 issue they need to address in the draft/FA this year, IMO. Pugh was a good start, but the rest of the line is getting gray. Losing Snee for the season didn't help, and he's getting old too.

As the link I posted above suggests, I think it would be good for the team to get Eli a different QB coach (and whatever that entails). Get his out of his comfort zone. How many OC's has he played for during his pro career? 1

If everyone on the O-line performed like rookie Justin Pugh we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I met Justin's dad after the first open practice in his freshman season.

Little did I know that I was talking to the father of a future NFL'er, short arms and all.

Goodness what nonsense that was.

no leash at all.

its his job till he says hes done.

Oline is horrendous and nicks has quit. randle often runs the wrong route and nobody fights for the ball, not even Cruz.

unless the ball is put right in the WRs hands and between the #s, they cant catch this year.

has Eli been bad? yeah, but what hes had to deal with is ridiculous. brewer & beatty might as well collect a paycheck from the other team every sunday. same with diehl.

Yep - OL is the biggest problem with this team.

Eli Manning is one of the best things to ever happen to the Giants.

I'd say 60% of his interceptions are a result of his receivers poor route running and fundamentals.

I saw one game earlier this season where 3 of Eli's 4 picks were balls that either went right through his wideouts hands or they had the stupidity to knock the ball into the air.

The Giants in general are a mess, I'm glad Tuck is figuring things out though.

Eli won the Giants two Super Bowls? Uh, no, their defense was what won those games. Consistently overrated.

He won them as the starting QB and Sir Thomas Terrific lost them. Patriots were favored by 12 and 3 points. What's your point?

I disagree here. Was the defense tremendous in those two runs? Absolutely. But, our offense put up more points then the two teams we played.

In '07 I think the MOP could've gone elsewhere but in '11 it was Eli's. I've never seen a better throw than the ball to Manningham. Granted, great catch, but the ball was in the only place it could've been.

Also in '11, Eli was almost exclusively relied on for our offense. Playoffs: 65% comp. rate, 9/1 TD/int, 305 yards per game. More than solid. A total of 466 rushing yards in that postseason. The D, 2 int's and 11 sacks, 5 FR's. Eli was also sacked 11 times in these playoffs.

In '07 it was more distributed but Eli was also very sound in those playoffs. The D, 8 sacks and 5 int's and 2 FR's, but that doesn't tell the story of the constant pressure we had.

What he needs to recognize is that the Pats' defense was not able to stop a 'consistently overrated' QB from getting into the end zone late in the biggest game of all - twice.

Definitely something to be said for how Eli reacts under pressure. And he won the MOP in '07 bc of the go ahead TD drive.

People forget Brady had an opportunity in '11 and came up short, although a healthy Gronk probably makes a better play at the Hail Mary.

Agreed, although I am not sure there is such a thing as a 'healthy Gronk'. And that's too bad - he's a talent.

tommyboy had an opportunity in 07 too. on 1 he was about to hit moss in stride which wouldve gone for a TD, but Corey Webster (who took this whole year off btw:bang:) got a hand on it.

both MVPs were his.

in both cases, it was gisele's prayer recipient till Eli took it away.

Manning is a bit of a wildcard at qb and has some Farve in him. Great talent but doesn't always make the best decisions. But, it just goes to show you if you don't have a solid OL you are going to struggle. Brady is a heck of a qb but he needs a solid OL.
