I have noticed that Nassib's best games are the ones when he isn't under a lot of pressure and has time to set his feet and deliver the football. The other times when he's hit or is in the process of being hit he throws the ball not as well. That is the difference in this game and against others where we lose. Our offense is SO much better when the OL protects him and he has time to throw without fear.

I mean, every quarterback plays better when they have blocking. This isn't some breakthrough. Nassib, like every other quarterback, tend to have great games when they have all day to throw the ball.

This is more about the OL than Nassib, but am saying it here because I agree with you. The OL is now a positive differentiator for us and the key is: it's more often than not.

We have seen more big holes from this OL than in previous seasons combined. Our OL play prior to this season was atrocious. The while thing gets better when the OL plays well.

What a difference having a reasonably high performing OL makes. Agree 100%--the past few years we were ATROCIOUS at OL, and the results spoke for themselves. Pugh has made a big difference; so has Hickey.

No doubt here, plus Macky laid a few hammer blocks up the gut.

The pass blocking was great, but the run blocking was simply phenomenal today. Pugh and Hickey saw their stock rise heavily on national TV.

And who knew that Jerome Smith is a terrific cutback runner?

That to me is a great development along with the great play of the OL.

I agree here.

I also think that those outside end runs look a little Eric Dickerson like. Now, I am not saying he is a great back like Eric, just that on those end runs I see a bit of Eric's running style.

That's true of any quarterback, and he has made some very nice plays under pressure. He had another one yesterday.

Nassib looks like a pro in the pocket these days. Great to see.

This O-line may be our best since the Cherry Bowl group of the late 80's. By that I mean the guys Coach Mac recruited after we had "bowl credibility": Bednarz, Flannery, Sims, Bernard and McCummings. (Craig Stoeppel was also in the mix earlier in that period)

Nassib picked up a blitz yesterday on a 3rd down and made a great throw. He's showing great improvement under pressure, and he's throwing a better deep ball.

Him and every QB who ever played... Except Joe kapp

Who would have thunk that Macky could actually play and be a good if not high good DI center?

Loved/love the kid. Kids like that are what this program needs to be made of. Well plus 5 inches and 60 pounds of pure muscle/athleticism. ;)

It is funny how winning changes things. :noidea:

This is the best performing OL since ... a long friggin' time.
