Achilles tear weakens the Achilles forever, and limits mobility in your foot from that moment forward which changes your entire bio-mechanics. A repaired ACL is actually stronger, and more stable than a natural-ACL. So even though the injury is bad and you don’t have to worry about collateral damage the ACL itself is actually better after the reconstruction than before. You have 4 ligaments around the ACL which can absorb the shock the Achilles doesn’t. I actually hope he tore his ACL than ruptured his Achilles. [/QUOTE]
