I have no problem with the NBA contracts. Everybody, including the owners, is making an obscene bleepload of money. Better that the players, even 'marginal' players, are rewarded as opposed to how the bulk of NFL players get tossed on the scrap heap. Often with lifelong debilitating conditions.
I've come to believe that NFL football won't be around within 20 years, and it's doubtful whether college football will be either. We've just seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the physical and mental toll that football exacts. I think it's inevitable that fewer kids flock to the sport, and I doubt that organized football can successfully make the sport safe. It is, after all, based on collisions.
