NBA Scout Says Syracuse's Gbinije, Richardson Could Both Be 1st Round Picks

Well, they could. But will they? Nobody will know until it happens.
I hate these generalized statements.

if im an NBA GM, I'm much more comfortable taking G. I honestly think G is going to be good in the league.

I like both a lot - but MR's ceiling is higher offensively.

I mentioned this to o'sully33 and Francis03 the other day. Could you imagine if Gbinije transferred from Syracuse to Duke and became the player he did at Duke? Imagine the level of non-stop slurping of Coach K about how he took a Jim Boeheim reject and turned him into an all-ACC player and possible first rounder. Yet he's still referred to as a "Duke transfer" after being the best player on a Final Four team, after spending 4 years in Orange and completely transforming his game.

That being said, I'd love to see Gbinije drafted in the 26-30 range to a very good team (OKC, SA, CLE) etc. where he could have an opportunity to carve out a role player slot on a roster. He's athletic enough and may be good enough of a M2M defender, but definitely needs to improve his handle if he's going to last beyond the summer league.

If You can hit a jumpshot from almost anywhere, pass with great vision and play good defense, yeah you can play in the triangle.

Holy crap - why aren't you coaching in the NBA????? You're like Zen Master Jr... :) Did you read Phil's book, or just intuit all of that?

For a shooting guard his handle is fine. He just needs an opportunity to defeat nba ageism.

If your a ready made team, you want the guy who can help you the fastest, which is G. I think he is going to be a lot better pro than people think.

Little bit of column A, little but of column B.
