[QUOTE="IthacaBarrel, post: 4245073, member: 363"] They definitely have options and that is certainly a possibility and understanding the injury concerns I expect the Pels to extend Zion this summer, sure stranger things have happened and there is definitely a disconnect between Zion and the franchise on how his injuries have been handled but you can't write off how good he was last year when healthy. One of the things that David Griffin did when he was first hired was take huge steps to improve the Pels medical and training team. Zion has chosen to not always listen to the staff but they are well respected. Doubling or the constant blitzing of BI or CJ will become next to impossible with Zion on the floor if he stays healthy. What did he average 27 and 8? He will have to play better defense under Willie Green though Depending on where the lottery pick falls that they have from the Lakers they could possibly move that pick along with Devonte Graham who has not panned out for a couple more younger vets. Nance should be a great complement to Zion as well. Kira Lewis was playing better before his knee injury. They will most likely look for more shooting and a bigger guard that can defend or another wing who can play off the ball. There backcourt with Alvarado, CJ, and Lewis is pretty small. The talk of trading Ingram was always irresponsible reporting by the media and a joke. The Pels now have Willie Green who clearly understands the modern day NBA player and has built a great culture. Ingram has stepped up his defense this year and works really hard at his game. Pels have options on the path forward but I think that path includes Zion. Huge risk for sure. I don't expect them to actually beat Phoenix but if Booker is out for a few games who knows. Either way a huge step in the right direction for the Pelicans tough to imagine that people were calling for Grif to be replaced in December and it did look bleak but he, Langdon and Swin Cash have done a great job.
