With all that said, if you are a Denver fan, and you have a guy that has finished 4th, 9th, 1st and now 1st again... this is your guy, imo. You know that if you have even a modicum of a decent roster around him you will be championship contending.

So, maybe fans are still holding Melo up because of the WCF trip and just turning the franchise around, but I think there is an argument that Jokic has taken that standing already and, if not, will very soon.

Melo was T14th in 04, T15th in 07, 13th in 08, 6th in 2010, 3rd in 2014 (but he was with the knicks at this point) in MVP races, just FYI.
