Personally, I think it's the reverse, with an additional factor.  For reasons that will forever be only known to him, Red doesn't run an offense with movement and schematics to free shooters.  Instead its largely iso-ball.

Now, IMHO that has dramatically limited the impact that Kingz, Betsey, and others can have.  And it has also led to Starling taking wayyyyy more shots than he should, because his game is built upon high volume and low efficiency.

You say guys have either played poorly or been afraid to shoot.  I think the poor play is a [I]caused[/I] by Red's poor offensive scheme, and their shots are being taken by JJ due to that.

One of JB's greatest skills was making sure the best shooters took the most shots.  Red is abysmal at that.
