Today has to be like Christmas Eve a long, LONG time coming for Cuse lacrosse fans. Wow, hard to believe they were absent from Final Four weekend for so long, hard to believe they finally made it back after a long struggle.

Cuse vs. Maryland...I feel like I'm back in the 90s! Started going the Championship Weekend every year as a kid in the mid 90s...I don't think I saw anyone play but Syracuse, Maryland, Princeton, or Virginia. I still remember Pancho Gutstein coming on as a sub goalie for Princeton, my buddy and I were like, "Who is Pancho Gutstein?" I think that is my second favorite lacrosse player name behind Gewas Schindler.

And though I'm from upstate NY and saw plenty of games in the Dome...I had to cheer for Maryland in those games, as my training partner and high school teammate was a LSM on those late 90s Terps teams. Nothing like sitting in Byrd Stadium and watching those games on blazing sunny Saturdays while my skin still hadn't shaken off another CNY winter.

This is going to be a fun weekend! Maryland, Cuse, Cornell...feels like old times. And with Tambroni steering PSU, we have another guy with deep CNY roots. And I think Tillman went to Colgate AND Cornell?

I'm from upstate NY but now live in Durham, NC. No matter how many times I see the current NC State "S" on a shirt or bumper sticker or whatever I immediately think, "Oh, a Syracuse fan..." And then catch myself. I'm a big fan of traditional school fonts/colors/etc. (I'm a casual Champions League soccer follower, I can't believe a team like Barcelona, with classic colors/uniforms will play in all hi viz. It's just wrong.)

I'm also not happy with the current Colgate "C", looks way too much like Cornell for my liking. Give me to traditional blocky C, not the rounded one. Thanks!
