Courier-Journal

(Cuse #1 in Boston with Duke as #2)

Don't like the looks of that bracket

Memphis/Purdue winner 2nd round . . . Go Tigers! Purdue is one of the worst possible 2nd round matchups, IMO. They are very disciplined with the ball, very efficient on offense, and they have multiple 3 point shooters.

Get past that and you have a serious dark horse in an underseeded Wichita State lurking in the Sweet 16.

forget the gaudy won-loss record, the conference championship, the #1 seed - it will be a genuine accomplishment just surviving those games.

Gonzaga vs. Wichita State in the 4/5 game? We were just talking about how a mid-major in the Sweet 16 could give us issues...

and Wichita State is a real b!tch of a four seed. They are currently 9th in the Pomeroy rankings, which means they would have an argument as a 2 seed in his bracket.

Didn't Purdue just dismiss a player and suspend another? What about their chances without Barlow (the one who has been dismissed)? I haven't watched enough of them to really form an opinion

I think this would be a great draw.
Purdue - will slow it down but dont have the horses to really beat us
Memphis - undersized and likes to run which is a perfect matchup for us
Duke - wouldn't be surprised if they lost in 2nd round to UConn or Murray St. They always struggle with teams who are real athletic
Indiana - reminds me of St. John's last year. Lots of great wins at home but away from their home court aren't nearly as dangerous
Gonzaga - feel like every year they're overrated with claims of "this is the year the zags make their run" then they lost the first weekend
Wichita st I honestly don't know much about and haven't seen them play. Vanderbilt scares me a little bit after watching them against UK. Ezeli could be a tough matchup for Fab and they have a lot of tough skilled veterans who will play physical and slow it down.

Plus Vandy can bomb it from 3. I hope they get some wins and are bumped up to a 6 seed. I don't want to see them at all.

Give me a bracket loaded with Gonzaga's and Memphis's and I'll show you a SU team in the final four.

Don't want to see Wichita St -- just the kind of mid major that always takes us out.

While we worry about tripping up against a Wichita or Purdue, Kentucky has a real bitch of a draw there.

KSU, Wisky/Lville, UNC/Baylor

Jeebus, Mizzou could not have gotten an easier draw. Only real threat is MSU and I'm not sold on them.

Was SU the overall #1 seed in this exercise? I assume they were, but haven't heard that for sure.

Big time cakewalk. If we only could get so lucky

In Pittsburgh:

1.Syracuse vs 16.SEMoSt/UTSA
8.Memphis vs 9.Gonzaga

1.Ohio State vs Norfolk St
8.West Virginia vs 9.Iowa State

That is surprising since we have a better computer profile than UK by quite a margin.
