NCAA not buying Louisville's shtick

Scholarship penalties will hurt Pitino because he plays everyone on his roster.

It's so weird who the NCAA focuses on. KU runs a criminal network but you never hear a peep about them.

UNC runs a fake school. Nada.

Baylor. Blah.

Cuse goes down in flames for a fake paper and $25.83.

per the article on Syracuse.com:
The NCAA enforcement group disputed those arguments, asserting that Pitino did not actively look for issues. In Pitino's case, the NCAA pointed out that Pitino and other Louisville coaches rarely asked any questions about how the prospect was entertained during their visit and when they did, they were superficial inquiries.

"Pitino failed to demonstrate that he actively looked for red flags, asked pointed questions or even occasionally solicited honest feedback from McGee about activities occurring under his supervision," the enforcement staff alleged. "There are basic elements of a head coach's obligation to monitor. If Pitino saw no red flag in connection with McGee's interaction with then prospective and current student-athletes, it was because he was not looking for them."

NCAA stands firm on allegations against Louisville, Pitino
Pitino will probably get the same penalty as Boeheim. Meanwhile, UNC is still scott free.

So here's my question...

Were ALL of the recruits at these alleged "sex parties" 18 years-old?

Because if not, is there not a bigger problem we're looking at?

Literally just this week a teacher in Texas was accused and arrested for allegedly having sexual relations with a 17 year-old boy.

How is this not one of the angles being investigated?

Cuse goes down in flames for a fake paper and $25.83.
And a bad paper at that.

SU deserved punishment...although forfeiting games is a ridiculous concept.
But the biggest scandal is that the former AD got another university job.

It's difficult to give the NCAA the benefit of any doubt.
But investigations do take time.
SU's dragged out, too, and the university even cooperated.

But the violations at Louisville, UNC and especially Baylor are unbelievable.
It's hard to see what else could be a higher priority for a governing body that pretends that its core mission is to "govern competition in a fair, safe, equitable and sportsmanlike manner, and to integrate intercollegiate athletics into higher education so that the educational experience of the student-athlete is paramount."

It certainly doesn't care much about athletes, students or education.

The punishment needs to go beyond anything we got. Not only is the NCAA saying Pitino had no institutional control, but this is criminal activity. The program should get hammered, even if Pitino gets a similar punishment as JB.

Meanwhile Roy is like "Are you saying I can dodge a gall darn bullet?" And the big boys in Carolina are like "I am saying, when you're ready, you won't have to".
