He has to answer these questions because some of these student-athletes are going home to houses with sometimes the power shut off, mattresses on the floor, multiple kids sharing beds, food from the local agencies, mold/pest issues, drug/gang ridden areas and limited clothes yet the colleges are receiving multi-million dollar apparel contracts and television contracts. The coaches are pulling in 7 figures salary plus their camps/side jobs but the athletes are restricted on how much they can make over the summer.
They complain about Walmart creating jobs that create public assistance issues but college sports create graduates with limited skills (besides basketball). Some of the majors these student-athletes have are ridiculous and have limited possibility for job outlooks when they graduate. They need to compensate the players for their time here at least and provide them with majors that are worthwhile. Just my opinion!!
