OK. we screwed up a little bit. but we bit the bullit. we took the ban. we lost the schollies and had to run off a few very good young kids who'd done absolutely nothing wrong to comply. and jb sat out his sentence in the penalty box. BUT ...
if even HALF of what they report is TRUE about the UNC program ... the hammer should drop HARD next season On the tar heels. enjoy this year blue !

(I hope to hear at least a little bit about their own widespread academic scandal tonite)

UNC Men's basketball will be fine
Why will they be fine?

That article ripping UNC showed that from their NC team, about 7 kids for a degree in amfam, the sham program (rhyming not intended), and the rest got no degree. If that's true, how are they gonna be fine.

the SU violations are mere drips when compared to the UNC wide open fire hydrant of scam-nosity. an SMU- like death sentence wouldn't shock me.

NCAA is looking for a rock to hide under. With us, they seemed to want the attention and spotlight.

This is the NCAA being fair and consistent.

on the slim chance they do win this title will almost certainly be vacated. better to just surrender to us now and save some face !

Because the game was already played? There's video of it. You can watch on YouTube any time you want. The notion of vacated titles and wins only matters in the demented minds of the NCAA and its jock lickers in the media.

Honestly, don't see how what UNC did has anything to do with athletics. UNC awarded degrees and grades to athletes and non athletes in their fake classes.

Media leeches like Pat Forde are whiny little babies and have the sads because they couldn't destroy Syracuse, they couldn't destroy Miami football, their "shocking exposes" on Oklahoma State and UCLA went nowhere. Next they're going to freak the *** out because they won't be able to bring down UNC basketball. And of course, the one school that deserved to be shut down completely got a virtual pass and the people crying about Syracuse today were silent about Penn State getting off free and clear.

What drives me more crazy about our sanctions is that people are saying that we need to be held accountable (idiot media who are widely misinformed, like Jemele Hill yesterday). Really?? Being banned from postseason play last season, losing wins, losing scholarships, and suspending your coach from 9 games isn't being held accountable? What rock are these people living under?

I'm not going to sit here and throw rocks at UNC after what SU just went through. My director at work graduated from there in 1993 and said that the African American studies class was offered there way before he started, and that every single student at the school knew about it. So to me this sounds like more of an institutional problem than athletics. But I think it's smart to just see how this plays out. The NCAA is corrupt and unreasonable so I am sure that they will nail UNC regardless.

The one that I am interested to see is Louisville. If we are called cheaters for letting players earn money to work a mens basketball league and for having someone put a citation into a paper, Louisville should get absolutely hammered for paying prostitutes to bang recruits in hopes of luring them to play there.

I know you're kind of joking, but the players on this UNC team had nothing to do with the "scandal." There's no way any UNC title would be vacated.

If we can't win it, I hope UNC does. The H0T Takes from the media pearl clutchers would be outstanding.

Doesn't matter if the non athletes were eligible too. Frankly that makes it far worse.

So instead of extra benefits it's straigh academic fraud. Same end result.

Perfectly said. And the sad part is that when a media member gets an agenda they have an enormous platform to air it out on, which results in average fans taking it hook, line, and sinker.

Academic fraud. It's an academic issue. Not an NCAA issue. Their accreditation should be under review. I can see some retroactive APR penalties like the NCAA did to UConn, but really, it's not an NCAA issue.

In that case it would be OK to start an entire sham college and just create an athletic program.

Kids can't play in college if their high school was a diploma factory, why would it be any different after they get into college?

The SEC minus Vandy and FSU say hello.

If the NCAA can show that anyone associated with the BB program directed players in that direction because they knew it was a phony easy way out------------------!!!

Doesn't matter that other students took the courses. UNC used ineligible players.

Saying it's ok because normal students used it too basically means that if our athletic department had edited one normal students paper along with fab melos, then it all would have been ok.

There is no way that makes sense. It's a total easy out for any type of academic fraud that you want to perpetrate.

So I guess Louisville is ok if a couple normal kids got a lap dance and a happy ending.

Just like the NFL overpunished the Patriots for Deflategate after underpunishing them(in the minds of the other owners) for Spygate.

The NCAA overpunished Syracuse for these 3 violations after Jim Boeheim thumbed his noses every chance he could at the NCAA and the Bernie Fine situation happened after the Sandusky stuff and in the minds of the public opinion we got off scotch free.

The issue is extra benefits. If athletes and non athletes were all able to benefit from the glasses, then there's no extra benefits.

The NCAA adjudication of our investigation proves that it's a kangaroo court that doesn't follow its own rules and procedures, but that doesn't mean that it should continue to throw away its own rules for other situations.

If they were using ineligible players, though I don't see how that could be since schools have the right to hand out grades and degrees in the matter that they see fit, then vacate wins. But as I said above, no one takes that seriously. You have the memories. You have video evidence that games happened and were won.

How far do y0u want to take this? Maybe there are some practicing doctors out there who took those fake classes and used that to boost their GPA for med school. Technically that doctor maybe shouldn't have got in med school and shouldn't be practicing. Does your outrage extend to the thousands of UNC students who got an easy 4.0 and maybe shouldn't have graduated, or do you just want the pound of flesh from UNC basketball?

Miami football has never recovered. Penn State was a criminal case. UNC CLASSES WERE DECERTIFIED BY THE SOUTHERN ACCREDITING AGENCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would not want to be in UNC's heels.

Miami football just hired Mark Richt. They're going to be fine.

Penn State harbored a child molester for years in order to protect the brand of Penn State Football. They deserved the death penalty.

And the third point just provided more evidence that this was an academic issue for UNC.

How could you be so wrong?
Decertification means that the athletes were ineligible.
The NCAA has no jurisdiction over criminal cases. NCAA has jurisdiction over their own rules.
Miami has never recovered. You may think that they will but that does not change the fact that they have not.
End of discussion with you for me.

At the time they played they weren't ineligible. That isn't a difficult concept.

The fact that there's more outrage from you over some bs academic issue than from Paterno says all I need to know.

we had a tutor perhaps putting a few paragraphs in one or two kids papers. UNC is widespread fraud where the students never attended classes or even had to submit papers or take exams. if we got a wrist slap then they deserve off the top turnbuckle kick to the face sleeper hold. goodnight unc!
