The tournament starts Friday the 19th this year. First round Fri-Sat, second round Sun-Mon.

I'm sure some are already aware of that, but I just noticed the schedule. I incorrectly assumed it would start the 18th (Th.). I know historically we've got posters who take off the first round of the NCAAT. Plan accordingly!

Now... time to win Wednesday!

I already switched my time off from Thurs, Fri to Fri, Monday. Thank goodness it was available, but that's what sick days are for :)

I get why they are doing it but the opening Thursday of the tourney is one of the best days of the year. It sucks not having it this year.

i don’t have to take any days off.

I really think the NCAA should move the NIT to somewhere other than Texas because of their mask stance. Look, they can do whatever they want. but the NCAA shouldn't be putting players and coaches and refs in any jeopardy. There is just no reason for it. If we don't make the NCAA tournament, i would say if we are a #1 seed, hand around until it is determined that we aren't getting in to the NCAA if a team falls out because of covid and then say no thanks to the NIT.

moving to thurs-mon is pretty smart, too bad the SB doesnt do the smart thing and move to Sat as well.

As long as they don’t move the NIT back to New York. These players and coaches are much more likely to catch Covid and die in New York than Texas.

Now? I don't know about that. Maybe a year ago. sure. Now, New York is at least aware that there is a problem. I don't care where it is held as long as it is not in Texas or Miss where they do not have a mask mandate. It really isn't too much to ask to look out for each other. I was once in a 7-11 and the person behind me didn't have a mask. I asked where is your mask? He said he didn't like wearing one. I said neither do I, but I wear it so that you don't get sick.

I believe New York has had more new cases the last 7 days. So I still think your chances are better in Texas.

you are still allowed to wear a mask in Texas, and I suspect most businesses will encourage it or require it

of course you are allowed. But when something isn't mandatory, especially in a place like Texas where individual rights seem to be a paramount, I think they will see a massive decrease in mask wearing.

They don't have as large a population and they aren't as condensed. If the NIT is going to take place in Texas, I say pass if we are limited to it.

Texas has a considerably higher population than New York. And if population density is a bigger driving force of Covid spread than mask wearing, Syracuse should’ve turned down road games this year like at Rutgers.

If we are going to talk about player safety, Cuse played in more dangerous areas than Texas, and it’s not particularly close.

Based on JB's comments from the last call in show, SU might decline NIT due to location. NCAA should have just put in in Indy and start it after Big Dance down to 16.

I certainly don’t have an issue with teams turning down NIT bids during a pandemic. Those games are basically worthless besides getting extra game time for underclassmen.

But JB (or dasher) acting like Texas is anymore dangerous than about half of the states in the country is not based based on statistical evidence or science.

In Texas no one is required to wear a mask. It’s a first amendment right. How come they Are required to wear clothing. can’t spread any diseases if they didn’t. LOL
