Shafer is in fact the most articulate SU Football HC I have seen/heard in my lifetime - and that includes Ben Schwartzwalder.
 
I believe that his bravao is calculated - a method for selling the program.
 
And I had no problem with his supposed "outburst" against Clemson - just like I had no problem with the SU defense signaling our ball during the INT review.
 
Football is an emotional game - it attracts emotional people. Even Marrone realized that emotion was a helpful device midway through the 2012 season.
 
At this point most reasonable observers had us exactly where we are right now before the season began.
 
We lost a three-year starting QB, two longtime starting WRs, our best OL, the heart and soul of our defensive secondary and nearly our entire coaching staff.
 
And we start the season with PSU, NW and Clemson.
 
You have to give this guy a chance.
