DeLoss Dodds, UT AD, and ESPN both released quotes that theBig 12 deal does not increase with new teams immediately after a WVU fan alleged that new teams would be added at $2.05MM increse per team, regardless of who is added - thus adding 6 teams to go to 16 teams would result in a $12MM increase.
 
The issue with expansion for the Big 12 is that they do not get more revenue per team, so expansion only benefits them $$ wise in the extended future.  If they decide they want the championship game for which they are already paid, they will add 2 teams.  After the ACC and SEC forced negotiations open due to the clauses that provided for expansion, ESPN and the others have realized it is easier to lock conferences in early and avoid the expansion game.  There is no rush to expand for the Big 12. 
 
I fully agree that this does not mean that the Big12 will NOT expand, just that $$ is not the issue from their standpoint.  If they get another bump, every confernce will expand and demand new negotiations.
