The hoops schools will claim that they gave in repeatedly to football concerns and the conference broke up anyway. The football schools will claim that the conditions the hoops schools imposed and the enormous gulf in athletic commitment between the two sides doomed the conference. Ultimately, it seems inevitable given the college facilities arms race that a conference with both Virginia Tech and Seton Hall was bound to fail. Cross-purposes, different agendas, and all. [/QUOTE]
