Yikes, it's more than official now... Hope this isn't a gamble, telling him to walk!

the remaining unknown commits better be damn impressive and the rest of the commits better be solid to tell this kid to take a walk this early in the process

When the inn is full, it's full. If you have someone who wants to take his time and someone else who you like almost as much but is ready to commit now, what would you do?

You can gamble and hold out for one or two slots, but if you end up not filling those slots with the high profile recruits then you're left with offering lower regarded candidates or saving the spots for the following year.

This isn't Adkins' first rodeo.

I understand that completely... I agree you can't wait for kids while others want to be here, as long as the talent difference is minute...

THIS IS THE LINE OF THE CENTURY AS IT RELATES TO RECRUITING - let's let the guys who have been doing it for years and actually know what is going on in between the 4 walls of the football office do what they think is right - nuff said!

We aren't going to tell a commit he lost his scholarship to get a somewhat better player. Would go against everything Doug established in recruiting so far.

Or maybe the kid who already committed is better. You can't just go by ratings. Gotta trust the evaluation abilities of our coaches.

Of course, you can't do that (unless the guy is looking around IMO), but I thought you save a couple of spots at the end for top guys.

Or maybe something else is going on and the other 3 schools told Neal the same thing SU did?
