That morning a group of us played touch football in Thornden Park before going to the game.   One of the guys had bet more than he could afford on Nebraska and I was arguing with him that Syracuse was better than most people thought and had a good chance to keep it close.  And as SWC described above, in the 0-19 Rutgers game Cuse kept shooting themselves in the foot with turnovers and arguably was better than Rutgers.   At the game, the guy who bet on Nebraska looked like he was going to cry when the game was only 7-3 at half.    When Siano caught the TD pass he realized he had no chance to win his bet and started cheering for Cuse like the rest of us.    After the game was final the crowd stormed the field.   The security guards at first tried to stop it but gave up and focused on keeping fans away from the goalposts.   I remember one frat boy was so drunk that he stopped and and peed in the middle of the field.  Next day the NY Times has a story on the front page - A1 - about the upset.
