Team Stats:
(I’ve decided to put the team that won the stat in bold and ties in italics.)

POSSESSION

Rebounding
(Add each team’s offensive rebounds to their opponent’s defensive rebounds. Then figure the offensive rebounds as a percentage of that)

We rebounded 15 of our 39 misses = 38.5%
They rebounded 9 of their 30 misses = 30.0%

Effective Offensive Rebounding
(Divide second chance points by the offensive rebounds)

We got 12 points on 15 O-Rebs = 0.800 points/O-reb
They got 8 points on 9 O-Rebs = 0.889 points/O-reb

Unforced Turnovers
(Total turnovers – the other team’s steals = unforced turnovers)

We had 7 turnovers – 3 steals = 4 unforced
They had 12 turnovers – 5 steals = 7 unforced

Points per Takeaway
(Points off turnovers divided by the number of turnovers the other team had)

We had 13 points from 12 takeaways = 1.083 points/takeaway
They had 5 points from 7 takeaways = 0.714 points/takeaway

Unsettled Situations
(Effective offensive rebounding + Points per Takeaway: [Second Chance Point + Points off Turnovers] divided by [Offensive Rebounds + Opposition Turnovers)

We had 25 points in 27 unsettled situations = 0.926 points
They had 13 points in 16 unsettled situations = 0.8125 points

Manufactured Possessions
(One teams rebounds + the other team’s turnovers)

We had 36 + 12 = 48
They had 33 + 7 = 40

Scoring

Shooting
(shots made and attempted and the percentage for two point goal attempts, three point attempts and free throws)

We were 10 for 34 on twos, (29.4%), 6 for 19 on threes (31.6%) and 17 for 20 on frees (85.0%)
They were 13 for 29 on twos, (44.8%), 5 for 16 on threes (31.3%) and 11 for 16 on frees (68.8%)

Points
(PIP= points in the paint, POP = points outside the paint, which is total points – PIP –free throws made, TREY: points from three point shots, TZ= Twilight Zone, which is POP – TREY, two point jumpers from outside the paint, FBP = fast break points POTO= points off turnovers)

We had 16 PIP, 22 POP, 18 TREY, 4 TZ, 13 POTO, 2 FBP
They had 24 PIP, 17 POP, 15 TREY, 2 TZ, 5 POTO, 4 FBP

Fast Break Percentage
(FBP/(defensive rebounds + blocks + steals)

We scored 2 FBP in 33 opportunities (6.1%)
They scored 4 FBP in 31 opportunities (12.9%)

First Chance/Second Chance
(FCP is First Chance Points, which is total points - second chance points – fast break points – free throws made. SCP is second chance points.)

We had 24 FCP and 12 SCP
They had 29 FCP and 8 SCP

Last Possessions
(Points scored on the last full possession of a half, a game or an overtime period.)

We scored 1 point
They scored 2 points

Starters/Bench
(Total points – bench points = starters points)

Our starters scored 55 points and our bench scored 0 points
Their starters scored 49 points and their bench scored 3 points

Assists
(The percentage of a team’s baskets that were assisted)

We assisted 5 of our 16 field goals = 31.25%
They assisted 12 of their 18 field goals = 66.7%

Team Offensive Efficiency
(Possessions: Field goals attempted - offensive rebounds + turnovers + 47.5% of free throws attempted. Efficiency is total points divided by possessions)

We scored 55 points in 55 possessions = 1.000 points/ possession
They scored 52 points in 56 possessions = 0.929 points/possession
It was a 111 possession game. (We are averaging 131 a game in regulation.)

Breakdown by Quarters
(Points scored between the beginning of the game and the 10 minute mark of the first half, then halftime, then the 10 minute mark of the second half, the end of regulation and then overtime of there was one)

14-7, 8-18, 21-16, 12-11

Fouls
(Two point shots and free throws attempted per times fouled.)

We attempted 34 two point shots, attempted 20 free throws and were fouled 18 times = 1.89 1.11
They attempted 29 two point shots, attempted 16 free throws and were fouled 16 times = 1.81; 1.00
They were more likely to get calls when attempting two point shots but we got more free throws out of it when fouled. The difference was minimal.

Comments:

- We got 25 points off of unsettled situations, (offensive rebounds + turnovers)) to 13 for Clemson- and won by 3.

- Tyus Battle scored 17 points, just like Oshae Brissett. But he missed 15 field goals to 5 for Oshae, who also had 1 more rebound and 3 blocks and 2 steals to none for Tyus. Thus 3NP for Tyus and 18 for Oshae.

- We scored two fewer field goals than they did but won it form the line, 17-11.

- Anthony Oliver was 3 for 3 from the line for Clemson. Those were the only points scored from a bench player for either team.
