Comments
- We scored 11 points of off 8 offensive rebounds. They scored 8 points off of 11 offensive rebounds. But they also scored 11 points off of 8 turnovers. We have concluded that this has deep, significant meaning but if we told you what it was we'd have to kill you.
- More strangeness: We got called for 16 fouls to 13 for them but we got to the line 15 times to their 12. Yet they lived in the paint, which is where you draw fouls.
- Clemson’s 65.4% shooting on two point shots, (traditionally the most significant stat in terms of winning), is the third highest percentage we’ve given up this season, topped only by Virginia in the opener, (66.7%) and Virginia Tech (78.6%). We lost all three games but avenged the first two by holding them to 38.9% and 45.5%, respectively. Maybe we’ll get another shot at the tiger sin the ACCT.
- We used to be a team that tried to win with three point shooting but our percentage there has declined from 44.4% to 25.0%, 30.8%, 23.8% and 29.6% over the last five games.
- Even given that we are now driving to the basket for much of our points, a gap -13 in assists, (4 vs. 17), is not a good sign.
- There were 4 fast break points in this game. We had all of them and two of them were on a goal tend.
- First chance points in the last 5 games: 27-34, 52-57, 49-59, 25-31 and 41-53 = 194-234. We are not doing as well against set defenses as our opposition is, despite our many offensive weapons.
