They rebounded 8 of their 35 misses = 22.9%

Effective Offensive Rebounding

We got 4 points on 6 O-Rebs = 0.67 points
They got 8 points on 8 O-Rebs = 1.00 points

Turnovers

We had 13 turnovers – 8 steals = 5 unforced
They had 16 turnovers – 9 steals = 7 unforced

Points per Takeaway

We had 16 points from 16 takeaways = 1.00 points
They had 6 points from 13 takeaways = 0.46 points

Unsettled Situations
(Effective offensive rebounding + Points per Takeaway: [Second Chance Point + Points off Turnovers] divided by [Offensive Rebounds + Opposition Turnovers)

Comments:

- Andrew White’s 39 net points were the second highest total of the season and in my memory for SU players, (I haven’t kept historical records on this: I probably should have.) The best was John Gillon’s 46 at NC State. Andrew’s O-Dog score of 42 was also second best to Gillon’s incredible 52 against the Wolfpack and his scoring efficiency was 35, second to Gillon’s 40 in that game. .

- Gillon finally missed a free throw after 48 straight, (since January 28 – 5 weeks ago). We coulda won by 30!

- I knew if we had a Taco Bell MVP. We’d win. Tech wasn’t scoring 70 on us. No tacos for you, Yellow Jackets!

- It was the first time no one had played 40 minutes since the North Carolina game on January 16th, 13 games ago.

- Nobody hit the offensive boards: the two teams combined to rebound 14 of their 64 misses.

- We had more points off turnovers, 16-6 and fast break points, 14-8. In Atlanta it was 11-17 and 6-17. We not only forced more turnovers and took better advantage of them but we got back on defense to stop the fast breaks, which was huge.

- Our POP of 55 second to –guess what- the NC Satte game, (59). But the gap between POP 55-21 = 34) , was the most of the season, beating out the Monmouth game, (42-12).

- We were far more likely to draw fouls on two point shots and points in the apint and got more free throws out of the fouls that were called than the visitors did.

As usual, love the write up! AW3 had about the same net points as game points, and Lydon had enough for second, which may not sit well with some folks on here. I'm glad your posts systematically spell out value that at times may go unnoticed. Sometimes I wish we had more of that in real life. ;)

I also enjoyed your summary of JG and AW3 likley holding the all time net points awards as #1 and #2...although maybe White would have preferred #3?
