Because we had 10 unforced TO’s, (that weren’t steals) and they only had 5. - You can tell that Monmouth was a good defensive team: our points per takeaway went from 2.38 to 1.20. When something went wrong, they rallied quickly. - We also went from shooting .625 on two point shots to shooting .472. - Watching the game, I had the impression we were crushing them inside on defense. But they had twice the PIP that we did: 16-32. - They also had more fast break points: 6-9 - We won it from outside, scoring 24 points beyond the arc to 12 and 18-0 in the Twilight Zone. That’s where our defense was concentrated and our offense, as well. - We often get mad at the refs and think they are against us. The foul stats in this game suggest that Monmouth was much less likely to draw a foul than we were or to go to the line when a foul was called.
