Assists (The percentage of a team’s baskets that were assisted) We assisted 17 of our 29 field goals = 58.6% They assisted 19 of their 27 field goals = 70.3% Team Offensive Possession Efficiency (Possessions: Field goals attempted - offensive rebounds + turnovers + 47.5% of free throws attempted. Efficiency is total points divided by possessions) We scored 76 points in 67 possessions = 1.134 points/ possession They scored 73 points in 67 possessions = 1.089 points/possession It was a 134-possession game. Comments - We are now shooting 79.8% as a team from the foul line, by far the highest in school history, (the current record is 75.1% in 1983-84) and 7th in the nation. - It was the 9th straight game in which we out-scored the opposition in the ‘Twilight Zone’ between the paint and the arc: by a total of 80-36. - We’ve also outscored our opponents in the paint on the year, 474-429 which seems surprising since we constantly complain about being a donut team that gets dominated inside. The thin is, not all points in the paint are scored in the side. A lot of those are short range jump shots. We can hit the three but the two point jumper is an important part of our offense. - The numbers on fouls above are skewed by the 5 fouls State committed in the last minutes of play to try to get us into the one and one so they could get the ball back. Without those five fouls, we were fouled 11 times and too 42 two points hots = 3.812. - It was a tale of two halves – on defense, (47 points vs. 26) but not offense, where we scored exactly 38 points in each half.
