We had 20 points from 14 takeaways = 1.43 points

Comments:

- John Gillon’s 46 net points is the highest of the season by 11 over Tyler Lydon’s game against Georgetown, (which was a heck of a performance in itself). I don’t keep historical records but I think Gillon’s game tonight is probably the high total I’ve ever recorded for an SU player, (I’ve been reporting these totals for about 15 years). Gillon’s combined 52 points plus assist and 40 points minus misses are similarly “off the charts. I’ve just never seen it before.

- Our 59 POP, (Points outside the paint) were our most of the year and the Wolfpack’s 52 POP were the most we have given up. Not a lot of contact with the shooters tonight.

- We were 29-11 in fast break points vs. Wake and FSU and I thought maybe beating the other team down court was the key. We were out-scored in first chance points 57-71 in those wins. But in this game we were the ones beaten down court, (9-23 FBP) but won the initial sets 56-33.

- Strange that we led in POTO, )points off turnovers) 20-7 but they led in FBP (fast break points) 9-23. Go figure.

- I wonder how many teams, on any level, got 100 points from their starters tonight. The most we’d gotten in any previous game was 76. It was the first game all year in which our bench never scored, (Pittsburgh was the only opponent who got nothing from their bench).
