I’ve added so many things to my post-game “Net Points” posts over the years that it’s become a very long post to read and a longer one to do. I’ve decided to have separate posts for the numbers for a particular game and for the cumulative season totals. It’s the later that takes most of the time and lengthens the post so much. There was too much verbiage and too many numbers. I’m still going to figure the season totals but I’ll post them at three different stages of the season: after the pre-conference schedule, after the conference schedule and after the post season. In the meantime, I’ll go with this stream-lined version of “Net Points, etc.” after each game, with numbers and commentary only for that game. That should make it both quicker to do and more digestible. Net Points (points + rebounds + assists + steals + blocks minus missed field goals and free throws, turnovers and personal fouls) Andrew White 24 in 38 minutes Franklin Howard 24 in 30 minutes Tyus Battle 18 in 36 minutes DaJuan Coleman 14 in 29 minutes Tyler Lydon 5 in 37 minutes John Gillon -1 in 11 minutes Tyler Roberson -2 in 11 minutes Taurean Thompson -3 in 8 minutes Paschal Chukwu DNP Awards Offensive Dude of the Game, (O-Dog) (Points plus assists) Andrew White 28 Individual Offensive Efficiency (Points minus field goal and free throw attempts) Andrew White 19 Sat Us Down (Who scored the first SU basket of each half) 1st Half- Andrew White with a trey at 18:43 2nd Half – Tyus Battle with a dunk at 19:36 TACO Bell MVP (Who scored the point that got us to 70, which gets you free tacos with your ticket stub) DaJuan Coleman scored on a lay-up with 3:31 left My Man (Who played the most minutes) Andrew White 38 Team Stats: POSSESSION Rebounding (Add each team’s offensive rebounds to their opponent’s defensive rebounds. White has also led in minutes four times this year, more than any other player. - Our offensive rebounding in the last three games has been 25%, 21% and 27%, all very low figures. - In our first four games we hit 57% of our two point shots. In the last three it’s been 39%. Points in the paint has been 42-84. That’s right, a 1-2 ratio. - We has 12 points in the Twlight Zone to 2 – and won by 7. - It also helped that we had 11 more points off turnovers and 7 more fast break points. - We had a remarkable assist percentage, 20 of 25 (80%).
