Fouls (Most fouls are called on two point shot attempts.) We attempted 52 two-point shots and were fouled 11 times = 4.73 They attempted 39 two-point shots and were fouled 13 times = 3.00 Comments: - 9 for 9 is a pretty good field goal percentage, (Rick Dean holds the record at 13 for 13 and Hakim Warrick had an 11 for 11 game). - Two point field goal percentage is a traditional predictor of victory and in our last two games our has been 62.5% and 65.4%. That’s tough to beat. - Can someone explain how, when we had 58 points in the paint to 36 and attempted 52 two pointers to 39, Oakland attempted 23 free throws to our 7? - And have you heard of a team that scored 95 points, won by 29, (and was up by 42) and was even in fast break points? (14-14) - It isn’t often that our bench outscores theirs, 33-2. - For once, we won the assist battle, (27-14) and it mattered. It wasn’t a game with a lot of jump shots. - Points minus missed field goals and free throws vs. Illinois: -3. Vs. Oakland +61 - This was the 8th straight game where the opponent drew more foul calls per two point shot attempts than we did. On those games we’ve attempted 325 two point shots and been fouled 106 times (3.25) vs. 253/116 = 2.18. If’ we’d drawn fouled at the same rate, we’d have gotten 52 more calls, 7+ per game. [/QUOTE]
