I will again be doing a report after each game this season and a summary report at the end of the non-conference season, the ACC season and the post season. Efficiency is total points divided by possessions) We scored 72 points in 62 possessions = 1.161 points/ possession They scored 62 points in 63 possessions = 0.984 points/possession It was a 125 possession game. We attempted 21 two point shots, attempted 19 free throws and were fouled 17 times = 1.24; 1.12 They attempted 24 two point shots, attempted 35 free throws and were fouled 28 times = 0.86; 1.25; They were more likely to get calls when attempting two point shots and got more free throws out of it when they were fouled. Comments - I’m amazed that we had only one steal in this game. That’s usually a big part of both our defense and our offense. And yet we won decisively. - JB talks about “making shots” all the time and people get impatient with him for doing it. We won this game by shooting 52% inside the arc, 46% outside of it and almost 90% from the line while the Buckeyes shot 37.5%/27%/74%. Put the ball in the basket! - Fouls are an opinion and we were more likely to get called for one than the home team. Assists are an opinion, too. Normally the team that was shooting best from the outside will have the highest assist percentage because, (counter-intuitively), more assists are granted on jump-shots than lay-ups or dunks. But in this game we had 37POP to their 20 yet only 59% of our shots were marked as ‘assisted’ while 80% of theirs were. The home team traditionally provides the scorers.
