I will again be doing a report after each game this season and a summary report at the end of each month. (I’ve eliminated some stats from previous years to streamline this post.) This is limited to recruited scholarship players only.

Comments:
- We played 9 scholarship players. Four of them scored 65NP. The other five were -2 in 56 minutes played.
- It may surprise some people but Benny Williams has now been our net points champion in three games this year: Colgate, BC 1 and now Pitt 2. What a difference it would have made if he could have played like that in the other games.
- We got crushed in unsettled situations, 30 such situation vs. 16 and 1.533 points surrendered per situation vs. 1.188 gained resulting in a 19-46 deficit that was impossible to overcome.
- We’d won “manufactured possessions 13 times in 26 games before this losing streak. In the streak it’s been 39-50, 35-49 and 36-48.
- We actually had quite a night shooting three pointers and outshot our hosts 56% to 39%. But they out-scored by 21 points form the arc anyway due to the sheer volume of three pointers, (16 vs. 41).
- And that opened up the middle for them, (59% on two pointers), as it did for Duke (also 59%) and Clemson (69%). We had to move out to cover them and it left Jesse all alone to take them on inside.
- We had more POP in 8 of our first 21 games. We’ve now lost that battle 8 times in a row by a combined 211-315, 13 points per game.
- We went back to winning the “starters” stat, 76-71. Unfortunately, our bench got waxed, 6-28.
- We scored a higher percent age of possible point, (if all shots had gone in), 50% to 50%. But their shot had a possibility of scoring 47 more points than ours did, (152-199) so they won by 17.
- The refs let ‘em play but if we’d gotten calls at the rate Pitt did, (compared to two point attempts), we’d have been fouled 24 times, not 17. And that “shooting foul” before the half was ridiculous. Still, a balanced whistle would not have been enough to overcome the other factors, above.
