They scored 67 on 29 two-point attempts, 21 three-point attempts and 15 free throw attempts = 67 of a possible 136 points = 49.3% of possible points scored. Fouls (Most fouls are called on two point shot attempts.) We attempted 33 two-point shots and were fouled 13 times = 2.54 They attempted 29 two-point shots and were fouled 12 times = 2.42 Comments: - The turnovers were equal, 14-14 but Virginia had 20 points off them to our 11. - Going up against the famous ”Pack Line Defense”, we dominated on the back line, hitting 21 of 33 two point attempts, (63.6%) and scored 36 points in the paint, compared to 14/29 (48.3%) and 20 for the Cavs. This compares to the lack of performance at Virginia Tech, where were 16/31 (51.6%) for 20 PIP vs. 19/28 (67.9%) and 34 PIP. - Unfortunately, we were outshot from the arc, (20%-43%) and the line, (61%-80%) and that’s where we lost this one. That’s our lowest three point percentage in 15 games and our lowest free throw percentage in 14 games. - Sad that Virginia’s pedantic offense had 13 fast break points to our 7, (when we had 5 blocks and 11 steals to their 1 and 4).
