except as a recruiter. But he defended Humphries today for the technical. Classy move. Didnt blame the refs but still defended and complimented humphries. I guess the opposite approach JB took w Trob. I cant disagree much w his bad cop impersonation but obviously he could have kept it behind closed doors

I think Jb was trying to motivate trob going forward, the kid from Kentucky made a mistake, no need to hark on it.

JB looked genuinely pi**ed off when he made those comments about TRob. His body language was ominous.

This appears to be more than just a couple of off games for Trob.

Stay tuned.

Scared. Don't like it.

JB is part pissed off and part trying to motivate. I think he is upset with how TR has played knowing that for him to be successful, he needs to outwork other players. When he's not performing, you can probably figure it's the effort that needs to pick up and that is something JB will not stand for.

If TR would just concentrate on playing defense and hitting the glass, you wouldn't hear a peep. But his D has been beyond atrocious lately and he's not rebounding like he's capable of.

Understood, Roberson has been inconsistent lately so JB is obviously entitled to feel however he wants, but keep it behind closed doors like a professional. No other coach at any level attacks their own players like that to the media and unfortunately this isn't something new for JB. It makes the entire program look bad and is classless.

JB seemed like a man at the end of his rope trying to motivate someone to realize his potential. Sure it isn't pretty, but I'd prefer this approach to that of coaches who regularly go off the rails completely behind closed doors to "motivate" their players.

Ehh I don't know, not that I played basketball at SU but I did play at a high level in high school and then in college and I would have preferred 10 times out of 10 to be lit up behind closed doors in a locker room or practice (which happened plenty) than have a coach humiliate me to the media and public.

Him being at the end of his rope is kinda giving him a pass too because this isn't a one time situation. JB rips his players to the media more often and more maliciously than any other coach at any level I've ever seen.

Very true.
