Programs in the Information School, Maxwell, Newhouse and Whitman consistently rank very high. Yes, some degree programs rank even higher than equivalent programs in the Ivies. If I were counseling a student who is interested in the information field, I'd send them to the School of Information Studies, which consistently ranks in the top 5 in the country. We have a tendancy to believe the positive marketing of other schools, while we run down our own. As a faculty member that works on research with colleagues from these so called better institutions, I can say with conviction that SU and its faculty are as good or better.
