I believe he visited for the UCONN game. A bunch of lax kids exited the football field through the student section before the game, and I think he was among them wearing a 3d New England windbreaker. The size is real. Looked to have a nice frame that should be able to add good weight without sacrificing quickness/speed. (FWIW, Sobel is a big kid as well).

The ISL seems to be a league on the rise, and maybe has been for awhile, but really starting to get recognized. They're likely getting good transfers (holdbacks?) from MA public schools. Chad Palumbo and Maguire, as mentioned, are from ISL teams.

Not a group of schools I associate with Syracuse targeting, so this is a nice development. I think they had one player from Governor's commit a few years ago but think they transferred after fall ball.

But yes, lots of top players coming from that group of schools. In the '26 class you have #11 Ted Frisoli, #17 Brian Burke, #20 Tuck Gilbane, #25 George Kelly, #28 Dylan Casilo, #51 Ty Curry and #77 Ian Smith. From a St. Sebastian's perspective, Frisoli, Kelly and Burke all go there. For '27 I counted four players from ISL schools including Quillard. Encouraging development.

A little more color on Quillard.

He lived in SoCal until towards the end of middle school. He broke a leg in football scrimmage freshman fall, which kept him out through the spring. His soph season you could clearly see the talent as he filled the #3 spot on first midfield, but I thought he played a bit tentatively. It looks like he went full beast mode this summer, and I expect to see that his final two seasons at St. Seb's.

Like Aidan Maguire, he has a frame that should handle 10-15 pounds of high school muscle without sacrificing a step. Everyone is assigning the dmid tag, but he could have a decent ceiling offensively if they choose to develop it. He's kind of just scratching the surface on offense, but St. Seb's hired the OC from Boston University as the new head coach, so he'll be receiving excellent tutelage and a lot of reps on first midfield over the next two springs in a pretty strong league. He could come to Cuse with more in his bag than expected.

Thanks for the insight and welcome!

Yeah they say ssdm but he is showing off some soft hands and nice moves in a lot of these highlights. Also he is the seemingly always elusive right handed player. We always seem to overload in the lefty department and recently lost a '26 righty in Rodriguez when he flipped to Penn. Could be some room for him to contribute on offense for us.

I was really impressed by his passing, especially in his high school highlight video. He does use his physicality, but he has a varied skill set. The highlight videos showed him doing pretty much everything except for facing off (though it looks like he makes plays on the face-off wing).

My favorite play is the last one of his spring video - he's in a 2v1 groundball battle near sidelines on offense, but slaps the ball backwards to a teammate. He doesn't get credited with a single stat for the play, but it leads to what looks like a huge goal for his team. Love those smart hustle plays.

Something about what Terry Foy says on that SSDM video makes me think he wants to focus on offense, but I could just be trying too hard to read between the lines. He's got what looks like all the tools to be successful there, especially a really hard shot, so I definitely wouldn't peg him into the defensive side of the ball right away.
