New Kaleb Video.

Me wish list for KJ's sophomore season:
  • Tighter handle
  • Better ball security
  • Improved defense

If he accomplishes those things, the rest will take care of itself.

Agreed. The defense part is just effort, so he better be able to figure that out. If he can't, then he's really shooting himself in the foot.

I'd love to see him get stronger with his left hand. I'm not asking for Devo-esque left handed finishes high off the backboard, but it would be nice if Joseph could keep defenses honest.

All good points in this thread. I think people generally forget how high his highs were last year. Yes the lows were very low as well but the highs showed why he was brought into the program and offensively he has all the tools to be a very effective pick n roll point guard. He'll be better, kids get better, how much? We will have to see.

midrange finish so key for driving guards.
Big time. He's going to need to knock those down to help the penetration. I feel as though he did well with this last year. As mentioned in another thread, handle and defense are everything for him this year. I really feel like he can break out now. Mid range pull up, tighter handle and dribble penetration and he will not only get easy buckets, his assists/game should increase this year.

I felt he had a knack for getting his hand on the ball when people tried to dribble by him late in the season, but the lateral slide(Yet) and the physicality to contain are not his strong suit. I think that's where Gbinije could come in nicely. He would be nice to have as a guard as well while trapping sideline.

If we really have all the shooters we think we have this year, Kaleb will have enough extra breathing room to show big improvement and get his confidence going. Then it should be a nice year for him. Last year was a tornado of terrible circumstances for him, really.
