For example, if we put 2 wr wide to each side and have at least 1 of them run deep, you force the defense to put 2 defenders wide (or give up 5 “free” yards from a screen) and also force the Dee to put 1-2 safetys deep for help with the vertical routes.

If the defense properly defends the pass with 2 defenders wide to each side, plus 1-2 safeties back for deep help, then there is only 5-6 defenders left to play the box/run.  So when this happens, middle running plays (QB or RB) should be open.  If the defense decides to put 7 or more in the box to help with the run then either a screen, or a vertical route should be open.

The problem we have had is that when opposing Defenses are defending the pass with 5-6 defenders wide and deep and only putting 5-6 in the box and we are not able to run on that even though WE ABSOLUTELY NEED TO BE ABLE TO RUN AGAINST 5-6 MAN BOXES.
