Next week is all about limiting Clemson’s big plays

Too bad about Pierce. He’s an offensive talent who could make some plays against them. We’re in good shape, regardless. I’ll be happy if we can score 17-20 points there and not get totally blown off the field. If we can keep it somewhat competitive then that bodes well for the rest of the season, IMO.

Watching so many of Clemson's games they definitely tend to be slower starters with the earlier games. It will be an interesting matchup. I don't see us getting beat up but think we don't have quite the horses yet to beat them on their turf.

I don't think this game will be embarrassing at all. I'm just worried about that D-Line. If we can neutralize them, then we could keep it super competitive.

It will come down to us as much or even more than Clemson. We are not as far apart as it may seem. Texas A&M is just a little bit above us right now and Mond put up monster numbers vs this Clemson defense. My biggest worry is about the drops and Dungey getting the ball out or tucking and running fast enough to keep things positive. Defensively I think we can hang with them long enough to give our offense a shot. My expectation is that they get us by 10 pts but we make it a heck of a noon time game for America to enjoy and continue to show why we are absolutely back on the map.

Next weeks game the Cuse just has to do what they did last year...hit the QB over and over again. Then when they do their QB shuffle and put in their freshman with the big arm every now and then, hit him as well. Only chance of winning this game is to rattle BOTH of their QB's. Hit them so hard their ancestors feel it.

Agree. There is going to be a ton of noise and emotion all all sides of this game and settling down and SU has to be able to take an extremely hard punch to the mouth and stay standing up strong. It would be cool to get the first lick in and that would be up to the SU OL to be at their utmost best on Saturday and not have the wolves be chasing down Dungey like he's a piece of raw meat.

As always, the OL and DL are the utmost important players in this game but the edge has to go to the OL in this one for SU to win because they have to protect and block better than they have all year. Can't try to do too much, stay within themselves and remember their technique and training. Can not...and I repeat...can not have multiple illegal procedures against the Tigers and put this team in a 1st in 15 or 2nd and 12 or the like.

I see ED having to make a lot of plays but that said, I hope he doesn't try to do too much because if he does, SU is going to have problems.

I'm not particularly optimistic about next week but I think we'll hang in there for awhile. I am comfortable about getting to 6 wins though barring an insane injury epidemic.

Last trip down there that lowlife Bouleware took a high cheap shot against ED. Dungey hasn't forgot about that and is going to get his payback. I'm looking forward to him playing the best game of his career.

Their DL isn't legit; it's the best DL in the country. In fact—without Bosa on OSU—it's the best DL in the country by far. I just hope we make it out without any injuries.

What's also true is, they are the same 4 guys who we managed (somehow) last year, with a patchwork O-Line. We've got the best O-Line talent, experience and depth we've had in at least 6 years now.

That said, Dungey needs to be smart and keep his head on a swivel.

I'm really hoping Dino and crew roll out a few wrinkles, and maybe some trickeration.

we need to run for 150+ without the QB to have a shot.. run enough to keep the safeties in the middle so that the double bubbles become a running game. and please lets hit the deep balls a couple times, Custis hopefully saving those catches for when it matters.

Without Pierce we went 4 wide way more and that means Riley/Johnson in space which we need to see to move the chains

It's hard to tell from that how obsessed they are with getting revenge, as opposed to just building their resume for this season. the important thing is that they won't be looking past us.

We can't commit the number of dumb penalties on offense, get repeated bad calls by refs and have freaky bad luck plays (e.g. Howard fumble)... And get a W v. clemson.

So it's good we got that out vs. Uconn... Will give Babers and the coaches plenty of ammunition to work the players on focus in practice this week.

We'll need laser focus and virtually flawless execution to pull off this upset again this year.
