I love the comment below about why he will be wearing #12. This is the kind of stuff I really like about Syracuse Basketball. My feeling is this kid is going to have a lot of heart. If he's anything like Baye was he will be an awesome Orangemen! I'm really looking forward to seeing how well in does this fall. Go Orange!

Ben Sigel: He's all set to arrive at Syracuse for the fall semester, correct?

David Wilder: As noted above, he is spending the summer visiting with his family in Senegal (and renewing his student visa) and, as a result, was unable to attend summer school. People need to remember he hasn’t been home since 2012. This absence was really stressed by the unexpected deaths of both his father last September and his younger sister Awa in February. He was unable to attend either funeral. He anticipates a return to New Jersey in early August and fully expects to be on campus shortly thereafter to begin school for the fall semester. He’ll be wearing #12 out of the respect for Baye Moussa Keita and his contribution to Syracuse both on and off the court.

He's going to be behind the other players for not having been here this summer. But otherwise I wish him all the best this summer and look forward to seeing him suit up in Orange upon his return.

So is this the groundbreaking news hinted at on the recruting board, or is there something else coming? if this is it, we have a lot of alarmists around here.

There have been whispers of eligibility issues outside of him renewing his visa.

The alarming part is opening up his recruiting for his position in his class. That is a strong sign that the program is concerned with him being here and playing next season.

Orrrr we're just loading up on guys because the NCAA is going to cut the sanctions in half? I like looking at the positive side haha, even if it's probably not there.

LOL at how the tone of this thread has shifted. and rightfully so.

Not this late in the game. This kid Jones is all over the map ratings wise but seems to have good upside and will likely be a good college player at some point but with the guys we have and are involved with in 17 specifically it doesn't fit.

Then I'd say don't shoehorn Jones onto this year's team. But I've already turned this thread in the wrong direction so I'm going to stop now.

Point is we'd need another body this year without Diagne. Most of those bodies weather grad transfers, juco, or incoming freshman are spoken for already.

The interpretations many have on here w/r/t various subjects is mind boggling. People were actually concerned about Battle while he took a couple weeks to make a decision, in a situation that was clearly in our favor. Now, with Moose, it's the reverse, the facts are all not good and people trying to make like it might be nothing.

Roberson's capable of putting up big minutes at PF and, if McCullough could play PF, Lydon certainly can give us some minutes there. The issue comes down to Center. If Dajuan gets hurt, we're in trouble. But, if Coleman plays injury free, I'd rather give Chino a shot than this Jones kid.

Worst case, let's just roll the dice with the players we have. If DC's knees don't hold up... well, there's always 2016-7. Save the schollie for a prospect who can make a more immediate impact.

The unrest over Battle waiting to commit was unbelievable especially when like you say the situation was quite obvious and posters made this abundantly clear over and over again.

I'm am a little skeptical of DC's knees until I see how hard he can play. And even then he might not survive the long season. I hope so but every time I see him play my knees hurt.

I honestly don't know how you came to that conclusion based on what I said, but ok.

I read the Jones thread but what's the deal? Is he a transfer? And will he be able to play this season? I think we really need another center this upcoming season to compete. But you go to war with the army you got!
