Winning makes the brand and in order to win you need the players. Now we have a few avenues that other colleges don't. We have a players coach the first African American heisman trophy winner and a tradition of winning (prior to this decade). But we have negatives: weather (yes I know we play in the dome but they still have to walk to class and wouldn't you rather do it in sunny Florida?), location, lack of in home talent. So using a gimmick to get a talented young student athlete to come here helps us win and get back to national relevance than I'm all for it. Once you establish that winning side back people will look your way and then we can have the uniform that doesn't change because it represents a winning tradition (ie penn state, Alabama, USC, Georgia). Players want to see the results right now not what happened 20 years ago and we don't have much to go off of recently with exception to minor bowl wins. If a flashy uniform turns the head while we win then let's do it and use it to our advantage. Plus it helps if we fill a stadium and actually cheer through out the game and upset Clemson on nationally televised game.
