Niko will come on the air following the Syracuse Chief's game on Thursday, the game starts at 12 PM

He'll be talking SU Football...SU Football...and more SU Football

There is a thought that SU to the ACC could mirror VPI's launch to prominence after making the move.

To that subject, the well respected journalist of the Daily Press in Hampton Roads, Va., David Teel will join Niko for the discussion.

Niko will take a shot at predicting SU's 2012 record and he would like the board to weigh in here.

There will also be some recruiting talk, Dion Waiter's will call in with Anthony Lima who now works in Cleveland.

Niko welcomes your calls at 671-1260

VPI used the Big East to launch themselves to prominence and then found a way to abandon the sinking ship to make sure it didn't bring them back down.

They were winning the 1999 National Championship game after 3 quarters. As a Big East team. They haven't reached that level since.

And VPI has a lot more young, rabid fans. A lot more. And I hate them.

You beat me to it. They were prominent well before the move to the ACC. Since then, they have mostly underachieved vs expectations.

But they've done very well in the ACC. Boston College got off to a good start, tyhen faded. Maimi has had all kinds of internal problems. Arguably, all three programs were stronger when they were in the Big East.

BC had been better in the ACC initially. But I think they showed with the Spaziani promotion that they really aren't all that invested in their football program. Maybe that will change, who knows.

They may have not reached that level since but found a very nice high level plateau. And yes I hate them.

I don't disagree. But my point was more that they didn't use the ACC to get to a high level. They used the Big East to get there. The ACC certainly didn't hurt them staying there.

And yes I hate them too.

Too bad we're not playing them every year, but not like we won't have interesting teams in our division.
