Can we get NIL donation link pinned?
Should be pinned
thats the rev share link. not sure about an nil collective link. Can we get NIL donation link pinned?
That's what I was thinking. I guess either one helps, but I think most were trying to boost NIL.thats the rev share link. not sure about an nil collective link.
I don’t want to offset SU’s rev share to hoops, I want to contribute directly to NIL above and beyond the rev share. Would love it if someone could provide a definitive link. That's what I was thinking. I guess either one helps, but I think most were trying to boost NIL.
They ask if you want to donate anytime you do anything or sign up for any event.I tend to save my donations for days like today and ignore those asks. Although if it is a program where, for ex, they are spending money to bring a speaker to AZ, I donate at that time, and also do a "thank you" donation after the event. I do lots of small donations. Today my donations will be more substantial. When I renewed my basketball season tickets - which cost $500 less than last year - I was asked if I wanted to donate money. I don’t know what to. I donated $50 because I am a big time spender. Maybe they hoped the season ticket holders who saved $500 would give it all to some kind of donation.
Franz or one of the mods should edit this post to make clear this isn't a NIL donation to hoops that would grow the pie. This is a donation to SU athletics either to offset revenue share, for which hoops gets a fixed percent anyway I believe so donation doesn't increase the bball budget, or is for stuff like facilities etc.
if there is no bball nil collective (which i think there will be eventually) and you go with your initiative, i'll kick it off by committing $500 for now.I am working to a response on this. To be clear, the Athletics Competitive Excellence Fund feeds the University’s commitment to offer the maximum revenue sharing resources to student athletes. It cannot be earmarked for a specific sport since it is capped. If someone designated that a $20MM gift go to women’s rowing, that would exhaust the cap.
The Coach’s discretionary fund is used for program level enhancements. Coach Mac uses his to fund additional meals above the travel allowance when soccer goes on the road. Coach Jack has used hers for additional equipment and amenities for the staff and team. It CANNOT go to player compensation.
I will post here if I get a response. If there is no channel established for basketball NIL I would consider a one time resurrection of our Fine Mess / SyraCRUZ NIL Initiative if there is sufficient interest and if the AD can set us up with a specific player through INFLCR.
Non binding commitments can be posted here to give me an idea of what we can expect

I'm guessing people here who specifically want to donate to MBB want to know that if they donate $100, that means MBB has an extra $100 for its roster, and this link doesn't do that.
You can contribute to rev share here. Just can’t earmark for basketball:How do I contribute???? And I don't care if it's NIL or the University's revenue share. I just want a great PG and more quality size!!!
I used to donate monthly through Orange United but that folded. Last night I followed the link above & set up a recurring donation to MBB Coach's' Fund. I will gladly change that if an NIL mechanism becomes available!if there is no bball nil collective (which i think there will be eventually) and you go with your initiative, i'll kick it off by committing $500 for now.
Not to be overly negative, but what a dumb time to be re-working NIL channels and how to contribute. There's like a week-long honeymoon period where casual fans will be excited about a familiar name in Gmac named coach and that's when they would donate to NIL -- but only if they can figure it out in less than 60 seconds on their iphones.I received a response from one of my contacts informing me that the NIL channels are being reworked and will look completely different in the near future. I've also been urged to contribute to the coaches' funds if I want to support specific sports and been told that those funds are being revised so that they can support roster management activities beyond revenue sharing. Not exactly sure what that means, but I expect some further details will be public over the next few weeks.

Hasn’t been an NIL collective for basketball since Orange United shut down short of doing an individual deal with a player. IMHO that was part of the problem. Orange United ended up raising nearly $3MM for men’s basketball last year and that channel was not replaced. Frankly there are not a lot of commercial options in the market. Blueprint Sports was the only one at the time OUC shut down and their terms were deemed to be unacceptable by Syracuse and many other SANIL clients. SU Football NIL covered that sport and was started by a small group of supporters. Unfortunately basketball did not have a similar group. Sounds like something is finally in motion and should be announced soon.So GMAC announced as new bball coach on Annual Giving Day and there's no way to donate NIL specifically to Men's B'ball???
I am at a loss for words. We really don't even have the very basics covered.

I am going to wait until there is a way to donate NIL to Men's bball before making a donation (I can't believe I just typed that.)
...And no, after all the hand wringing by our HOF former coach that we don't have enough bball NIL, I'm not simply donating to the Head Coach's Fund as a make-do.
BB has his work cut out for him dragging us out of the stone ages...
