Well, with Villanova playing well recently, it was only a matter of time until their RPI (which had been hovering right above 50) reached that magic number...And it has now happened.
Today's updated RPI numbers have Villanova at #50, meaning that Syracuse no longer has any losses to teams outside of the RPI top 50. Pretty impressive.
What this also does, is give Syracuse another Top 50 RPI win as well. Making our record now:
2-4 vs the RPI top 25 teams
4-4 vs the RPI top 26 - 50 teams (6-8 vs top 50),
5-0 vs the RPI top 51 - 100 teams (11-8 vs top 100),
8-0 vs the RPI top 101-150 teams (19-8 vs top 150) and
6-0 vs sub 150 teams
Not too terrible, although we could always use another quality win or two (who couldn't?)
